Taiwan

Export Requirements:
Shipping U.S. fruit of the genus Vaccinium spp. to Taiwan requires a Phytosanitary Certificate (PC) issued by USDA APHIS.  The PC must include the following additional declaration:
  • “The fruit has been thoroughly inspected and found free from Conotrachelus nenuphar and Frankliniella occidentalis.” AND
  • “The fruit has been thoroughly inspected and found free from Rhagoletis pomonella.” OR
  • “The fruit has received appropriate fumigation treatment prior to shipment.”
If the shipment transits through a third-country (i.e., other than the U.S. and Taiwan) and/or through a fruit fly regulated area, it is required to meet Transiting Requirements established by Taiwan.  Acceptable transiting procedures include transport in sealed containers, fruit packed in pest-proof cartons, or non-pest-proof cartons covered with an impervious cover or screen mesh and secured with an approved tape.
For 87 pesticides with U.S. blueberry MRLs, 25 pesticides have no Taiwan MRL established, and 39 have a Taiwan MRL more restrictive than the U.S. MRL.  Only 23 of these pesticides have a Taiwan MRL harmonized with or set higher than the U.S. MRL.
